S-tronic here. 80mph = 2,500rpm in 7th. I'm getting 22+mpg on highway runs at 75mph, and 20-21 mpg on my normal runs to and from work. My 2004 S4V8 used to do 16-17mpg on the same runs to work.

My experience has been that you can pick it up the same day it arrives, provided it arrives before lunchtime. It's usually taken them 3-4 hours to prep cars for me. Also depends on how many sold...

......until the weekend if at arrives before then. Luckily my Thursday and Friday are mostly devoid of meetings, so I'll go pick it up just as soon as it's ready. Let it be tomorrow please.

I found both numbers in an internet search a couple of weeks ago. It's easy to find the s-tronic ratings (406 ft.lbs and 9,000 rpm) but I can't seem to find the manual ratings anymore. Sorry.

S-Tronic is beefier

2010 S4 s-tronic is rated at 406 ft.lbs of torque while manual is rated at 369 ft.lbs. So ABTs light tune version meets the lower capability of the manual.

It's way too expensive

I know they have to amortize their design time/cost into a fairly small number of units, but seriously, $2,900 is too much. It's a box of electronics which won't cost them more than $200 to make in...

I didn't ask Jason how he knew which boat it was on, but yours will surely be on the same one. A lot of us are going to be very happy in a couple of weeks. Can't wait.

S-tronic ordered. I really liked the DSG on my wife's A3. Control of gears like a manual (though not at launch), plus auto-mode when in boring traffic. It's not quite as pure, but close enough.
