Hi Rushpuppy,

Just called the service manager and according to him all new AR's in their showroom have the hiss coming from the speakers. Apparently, the amp is not powered down when the head unit...

That is too bad, I had hoped this would fix it. It seems as if the amp doesn't power down when you turn off the head unit.

Will post here next week to let you know what they said or did!

I had a Touareg V8 with the 4.2L engine, which I think is the same engine as in your car.

Didn't use oil for the first 7000 miles. I then traded it on my AR (had a whole bunch of other problems...

I have exactly the same problem in my 04 with Bose. Took it to the dealer, the service "advisor" turned out to be deaf so it was no problem for them anymore...
