That was me from Detailing Bliss...

Hey, Phil, the best I found is to just use a good spray wax with some Uber MF towels (of course) to wipe off. I never clay it, polish it, or wax it. BTW, did you end up getting your allroad yet?

I have OEM front and backs on mine

My neighbor helped me put them on a while ago. I think they definitely added to the overall look of the car, but they can be a PITA sometimes. The install was pretty straightforward. We did remove...

Yes, Phil offers great sales (pricing), service, product selection, etc. I've used Glanz Wax before and it is a really nice product. It can be a little streaky at times on removal, but noting a...

Gary, thanks again for the help, placed my order a couple hours ago, when will they arrive?

I currently have an appointment with local Audi dealer to put them on next Tuesday (9/16). Should I move this back? Thanks again.

Yep, Prima Hydro is good stuff...just be careful...

I've found that if you mist the whole car and then go back to dry, sometimes the Hyrdor starts to dry up itself and is a PITA to remove. I usually mist a section at at a time and dry with waffle...

Would 225/45-17s fit my Allroad with stock double-spoke wheels?

I'm looking to put some new rubber on my '04 Allroad. I know stock is 225/55-17, but there are some Bridgestone RE960AS 225/45-17s on TireRack that I'm looking at. I have this same tire on my A6...

Re: Ask the dealer why?

Air springs were warranty work, but extended warranty work. Stated that extended warranty company would not cover an alignment. I went through something similar before with my A6 and remember...

Necessary to do alignment after replacing air spring?

My dealer just called and confirmed that the left front air spring is shot. He recommended doing an alignment on it after it's replaced. I don't think I've ever had it aligned in the year and few...

It's actually dirty and is due for it's weekly washing this week...as for the twin spokes

I found the boar's nest wheel brush that Phil sells over at Detailer's Domain works great for agitating in the nooks and crannies on them. If it's realy heavy with brake dust, use some P21s Wheel...

Well, it's been a month and the Allroad needed a new reason to go back to dealer...

Got home from work and parked the Allroad in the driveway only to come out a couple hours later and see this:

I tell you, I...

Make sure you get an extended warranty...

In just over a year I think I've put about $5-6K on my extended warranty, and that's without touching the air suspension (which is starting to go) or turbos. As I type this, mine is at the dealer...

Thanks for all the replies everyone...I'm going to try to hit my dealer up to take them apart...

...and I'll take it from there from a cleaning perspective, and see if they can re-assemble.

Thanks for the info grey-2002-ar-6sp, think I'm effed after reading that though...

Not sure doing that is in my arsenal from a skill perspective and looks like I'd need some new tools. Normally, i jump at the chance to buy new tools, but I'm more afraid of screwing something up.

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to the mechanical side of things. Have some fun stuff lined up for cleaning up the wheels from my detailing background. Sorry for the newbieish type question. ...

Tried searching, but what do I need to get the outer spoke off on dual-spoke wheels?

Trying to get them off to clean them to see if it clears up my highway shake. Will report back with results. Thanks.

Paging Lagoon JettaIVr6, want to trade notes on highway speed "shimmey"

I don't post as often as I would like, but been having a helluva time with my '04 AR 2.7T lately. It had a pretty bad shimmey between about 50 and 65ish. Dealer replaced both front CV joints and...

Re: costco ones work well enough for me but then again I'm only a detailing n00b

I use the Costco MF ones for my ONR washes and have yet to notice any damage done to my paint or cars I've detailed paint. The only time I had an issue was with my Schmitt wash pad when doing my...
