yea I pulled the plenum (even remembered those pesky little expanders for the studs before they dropped and got swallowed by the driveway) and made sure there weren't gremlins or nasty things living...

BEFORE you go buy a new one

Swap out the coil packs to ensure that it really is the coil not the plug or the connector or the ecu or or or or....

I ran water in the hose and it does not appear that there is any valving in the hose. It is just a hose. I will replace them as they both are looking original and 200k miles will take...

I seem to be inept at replacing the oil pan gaskets. The first two times I used RTV, this last time I used gaskets. IT STILL LEAKS!!!!

You can judge turbo wear by shaft movement (play). I would HIGHLY recommend replacing BEFORE it explodes and shoots little pieces of metal into your intake. Preventative maintenance is ALWAYS...
