I put a Westphalia hitch on my wife's VW Sportwagen. Love it, no drilling, and OEM quality. I had a 2" receiver fabricated onto the Euro swan neck ball hitch. I can pull up to 4 bikes. See...

Do you run 17 or 18" snow tires?

I run 17", and while they do not increase my ground clearance, they definitely improve snow traction in deep snow vs. 18".

Have not done it, but by all accounts, it is a PITA . . .

The best mod for a B6 S4 is exhaust. Have a listen to a couple of different aftermarket exhausts and you will see why.

Check out the usually dead A4 cab forum . . .

There are a few A4 cabs with modified bodywork there.

Any recommendations for a good shop for interior work?

In particular, I am thinking about replacing interior trim and hardwiring a radar detector.

Routinely.

I live in Salt Lake City and this car is my usual ski vehicle. I use 17" snow tires and the car is amazing in snow. No top issues. In winter when the car is cold the car is maybe slightly colder...

The Car & Driver article is from April 2002. Check it out.

Below is a part of the article explaining European speedo regs:

The European regulation, ECE-R 39, is more concise, stating essentially that the speed indicated must never be lower than the true...

Disagree. Car & Driver had an article about this a year or two back . . .

German cars tested were consistently calibrated 3-5 mph over actual speed. Japanese and American cars were all closer to actual speed. My own experience with several late model Audis is the same. ...

Re: List all the cars you have had in life

67 Mustang Coupe
94 Jeep Wrangler
00 VW Jetta VR6
04 S4 Cab

I may win the shortest list over the longest time contest. 4 cars over 20 years.

Depends what you want

Exterior styling--subjective. For me the S4 is classy and the M3 is a bit ghetto.
Interior styling--S4 hands down.
Engine--S4.
Mileage--M3.
Handling--M3.
Rarity--S4.
For me, the all wheel...

I think he is saying that he would consider a 4 door or a 2 door convertible

It is much easier to pull kids out of a two door by taking down the top. It is also much easier when you are putting in or removing child seats.

Drive an S4 Cab and see if you like it

I haven't driven an m3 vert so I can't compare. What I will say is that any convertible is obviously going to be about 2-400 lbs heavier than its hardtop countertop. If you like the s4 sedan, I...

Do the Milltek--you won't regret it

I am not sure the stock S4 exhaust is larger diameter or freer flowing than a stock A4 exhaust. If you look at both from the rear, they look identical.

What would the insurance company have to say to MMP?

Isn't it pretty much inevitable that someone would wreck in the course of an open lap day? This can't come as a shock to MMP. The lucky part is that no one was seriously injured.

Do it - looks like a good price to me

Keep in mind that S4 cab production lagged behind S4 coupe production and also A4 cab production. So even though it may be early build, Audi had plenty of time to work out most of the bugs on other...
