That makes sense because the rings have to seal during break-in. If sealed properly the engine shouldn't burn much oil. If not then it will always burn oil.

Metra has a double din faceplate for the symphony head unit. Apparently they have a single din faceplate for the concert head unit in production. In europe several vendors have them.
