I used autohausaz to price the MC and just had to search for the knock sensors
Autohausaz wants $250 for the MC, and it looks like each of the two knock sensors runs for about $130 at best (some retailers are trying to get $220). So it's not quite $600... but it's still over...

Haven't pulled codes, guys on the forum suggested given symptoms, it was knock sensor
it is definitely at about .8 bar (so still suction, not boost) but the most important factor is the 3000rpm. Doesn't matter the boost, light doesn't come on until exactly 3000, and once I'm past...

I've got two known issues, both significant, but both can be controlled with how the car is driven. One, I've got a brake master cylinder that sticks when it gets hot, causing the brakes to drag....
