since the clutch has been slipping badly I haven't been able to wail on it hard for a while now, which helps to blow out deposits.

however my clutch has been on the way out for a while so I've been taking it easy. Most of my driving is highway miles too. They're putting in my new clutch and TB/water pump while they're in there.

engine update

Riverside pulled the head and it was just what they suspected...heavy deposits on a few valves (up to 1mm) that wouldn't allow them to seat properly. Timing belt was fine.

Now I'd like to ask for...

rear chain is normal and the tensioner/bridge is too...timing belt markings are spot-on

both the tech and the writer seem pretty confident the TB is where it's supposed to be.
