Thanks a bunch for this post, it helped a lot. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. That old o-ring was in such rough shape.

My bad, its the 2.7t!

I did replace that Thermostat Housing with the aluminum one, worked like a charm :) it was cracked with the plastic one.
