Sorry -- forgot to mention -- my steering ratio...

Sorry -- forgot to mention -- my steering ratio is also DEFINITELY variable. In comfort mode, the ratio is really quick, and in dynamic it's less so. Again, is the functionality all there but I'm...

So then am I actually controlling the suspension by using the console buttons to go from dynamic mode to comfort mode? I use this all the time for driving back and forth from the city, and I am...

No suspension option on the MMI ADS menu

I've got a 2011 S4 with ADS and Sport Diff. Weirdly, when I go into MMI to change the individual settings, I only see Engine, Steering, and Differential, no suspension. When I change from preset...

Help is on the way then...

And the trunk, while small, is much much bigger than it looks. The opening isn't very wide, but the trunk itself is the entire rear of the car behind the engine, including the hips.

<a...

Re: now that's a sports car!! but purely a toy. I've seen a few >>

Totally! This car sucks in traffic because you're below everyone, and especially at night because everyone's headlights are at eye level. But it's unlike anything I've ever driven... except a...

Definitely no power steering, but you don't miss it.

Only time you really feel it is when the car isn't moving.

I can't wait, I have my first BMWCCA HPDE in June.

And apparently the Lotus dealer puts together tons of these and I'm not invited to all of them. I'm definitely a novice, though, so I'm not going to be passing anyone any time soon.

Say hello to my light little friend

I picked up the TT replacement Saturday. I had thought long and hard about getting a GT3, but I think that's too much car for me -- it will be there waiting for me when I'm ready.

As for the...

Yes, you are correct.

I wasn't asking because I wanted a splitter, but because I was planning to buy a car that was much lower than the TT. I'll post about what I ended up with in a min.

How do you guys with the splitters deal with steep driveways?

I've realized that the front of my house may be steep enough to rule out many of the cars I want. What can be done with the use of wood blocks or ramps, and do any of you guys actually use stuff...

You and me both!

But FWIW, I have clearance from the wifey to go nuts. :)

The thing I don't want to do is to buy a car, mod it, outgrow it, sell it to buy another, repeat, repeat, and then before you know it, I've...

There are pros and cons for both, to be sure.

Thank you, sir! I think it will be between the e92 M3 and the S5/RS5 when my 335 lease comes due in 12/09.

The 335i is less involving but more capable. It will be interesting to learn my/its...

Dunno. Looking at a wide range of cars

Somewhere on this huge spectrum:

e36 M3
e46 M3
MZ3
911 996
Elise
996 GT3

It kind of depends on how crazy I get with it. Basically, I can get an excellent example of the e36 M3 for 1/4...

Farewell my friends

I sold my TT on Friday. It wasn't as hard to let her go as I thought it would be, but I did see one on the way home and got a twinge. I got my 335i as a daily driver and am finally going to realize...

This thread kills me!

Because I'm in the process of deciding whether to keep the TT, put some money into it and convert it to a track car, or to buy an entirely dedicated car like an elise or 911. Obviously these are two...

That's how I feel about my 335i coupe.

It kind of destroys my TT in every dimension. My 180 is hanging over the auction block by a thread.

I always thought the TT was really fast. But in the TT, if I floor it through a couple gears,...

Hmm, advice seems to suit my fantasy scenario.

In fact, my wife even cleared the GT3 purchase :). I just have to wait until I sell the TT and find the right one at the right price at the right time. Will let you know what happens with the car...

Next steps for my TT

So, as some of you may know, I got a 2007 335i coupe in December, and since then I am having a hard time tolerating the TT, which generally isn't as tossable, as fast, as comfortable, doesn't brake...

I thought about it, then I had a really lame idea

Buy hub adapters and use the 17x8 ssr wheels as my BMW winter wheels. :) I'll post here if I decide to sell though, I know these wheels are hard to find now that they're discontinued.

The fate of my TTer is in question!

Yes, it's time for auto-flagellation. I broke down and ordered a 335i on Saturday. It was time to have a car that seats >2 adults, and has a factory warranty. I love TT, but she's a 1999 build and...

Oops, I misread that. You asked where, I read "do you play."

I play around town in NYC, Joe's Pub, Makor, Mo Pitkins, etc. Not as much as I used to though, I quit music for a day job so now it's my side thing. How about you?
