Default Interior is just about done...

A few weeks ago, I posted pics of the new alcantara headliner. Finally got the rest of the interior done. Car had ecru front UrS seats and a black rear comfort bench seat. I installed a t44 black leather/alcantara sport interior, audi sport wheel, alan gunn shift boot and cec shift ****. Also installed a new/old oe radio and billzcat1 short shifter. It's a new car inside. Hope you enjoy. Now, paint, rebuilt head, recon'd im and em and um, well, surely other things will break in the meantime...
Jim

Default Can someone give me a lesson on Audi seats?

I have two 200s, an '89 and a '91. The '89 has a nice black interior with leather seats with a fabric middle part. The '91 is a grey interior, full leather, no fabric. Also, the '91 seats don't seem as snug/nice as the '89 seats. Is there a nicer seat I can replace my '91 seats with? What is a "sport seat", and I have seen some talk about getting a seat from a newer car...what is that about? Thanks for the education!

Default jurg's seats in his pics are sport seats, older style that came stock in our cars...

you can try to find sport seats like that or swap in ones from a UrS4 or UrS6, but the connectors will eb different, so some splicing is needed.

Default Were the seats that good or did you restore them somehow? did you buy the alcantara yourself? where?

I've got the same interior (escept for headliner of course) in my avant. I need to restore my driver's seat. The middle alcantara section has worn out holes in it as well as left side back support (leather). I've been trying to find a decent shape seat for almost a year now with no luck, so I'll just probably try to restore the one I got. Any suggestion on where to find the matching color alcantara? or should I just bring it to a good upholstery shop to do the job?

BTW awsome job you've done! I also like the alcantara covered arm rest.

TIA

Default Believe it or not, the seats are all original out of a wrecked 88 5kcstq...

I have cleaned and conditioned them, but that's all. I would suggest taking the seats to a good upholstery shop. They might have trouble matching up the alcantara on one seat, so think about doing both front seats at once. The black leather is easy enough to match, so they should be able to sew on a replacement piece.

Thanks-was wondering if anyone would notice the arm rest. Same alcantara as the headliner...

Thanks for the kind words,
Jim
