Front plate removal write-up...
I bought my car with a front plate installed, Michigan does not require one so i wanted ot get rid of it.
Step 1:
Remove the screws holding the plate to the bracket.

Step 2:
Drill out the rivets holding the bracket to the filler panel. Drill just enough so the tops pop off.

Step 3:
Now that the bracket is gone the filler panel needs to be removed (because it has some nasty holes in it.) It is held in place by 12 tabs.

Step 4:
Now you have to replace this filler panel. The part number is BN0807285. It runs $105 unpainted from my local part dept. You could also call Claire Parts and get it for a hell of a lot less (800)354-5100.

Bondo the panel instead:
Bondo is pretty easy and given the size of the holes its a good place to start.

you don't have to replace the panel....
go to Lowe's, and you'll find small plastic plugs that fit those holes perfectly. you can paint the plugs so that they're barely noticeable!
