Default Overheating after 55,000 service

I just had my local dealer complete the 55,000 mile service on my 2005 A-8. Immediately upon leaving the dealership the car began to overheat. The car had not overheated since I purchased it new.

The dealer says it was a bad thermostat and had nothing to do with the service just performed. The odds seem extraordinarily small that this problem would randomly surface for the first time following this service without and cause and effect relative to the service.

Does anyone know if any of the work completed with a 55,000 service could have created the overheating problem.

Check to see if they replaced the coolant and if they did and didn't do it correctly, air's in the system which will definitely cause the overheating. Lift up the hood to see if any electrical connectors are undone (electrical fans?), coolant level and let's just hope they filled up the engine oil. And again, it's always your car's fault when something goes wrong after they touched your car. I never had any thermostat problem in my life. Check to see if it's actually the thermostat by feeling heat of the radiator hoses at the engine and radiator, if the temperature are totally different then it's the thermostat.

Good luck,

Louis
