AAN + GT3071 -- Anybody? (long)

Is anybody actually running one of these turbos? Not "planning", not "on the bed", something actually installed, sorted, and daily driver-able.
Where I'm at right now: I got MTM 1+ with 4.0 VMAP set to 2.8 bar. I have the Tom & Marc FMIC. 1.8T coils. Ceramic coated RS2 exhaust manifold (previous owner: Bill Billoti "Edwin"). 996 Carerra 2 Monobloc calipers with 993TT two piece rotors with custom hats & carriers. H&R V8 springs with Bilstein sport shocks. V8 TORSEN rear end off a 1990 V8q with 139k miles. I pulled 235wHP and 269ft.lbs on a Mustang Dyno WITHOUT the FMIC and RS2 manifold installed on 92 octane cheap gas with 10% ethanol content.
Why am I looking at upgraded turbos? Because I'm at the cusp of advancing into the Advanced run groups at HPDE driving events. Right now my car is old, but it will still outmatch the various A4s, Volkswagens, and WRX's I see at the track. Moving into the advanced run groups I'll be coming up against serious iron, more experienced drivers, and much bigger budgets than I've got. I want to be able to atleast hold my own if I'm being pitted against B7 RS4s, B5 "RS4"s, SL55 AMGs, STI/EVO and Corvette Z06s. I don't wanna be at the front of a train just cause I got 200hp less than everybody else.
When will I upgrade? After I buy another daily driver so the ur can afford some downtime. Whatever I get will definitely be RWD and maybe a 2 seater. In the running is a Z3 S52 M Roadster, S2000, E36 M3, or Miata folding hardtop. So whatever happens to the urS6, it still has to be a reliable and daily driver capable as it will be my 100% driver during the winter time and most likely it will see the majority of my track time as well.
The 034 Motorsport website says Their GT3071/K26 can be run with RS2 software and I assume upgraded injectors. Is anybody doing this? I'm thinking yeah, it'll run with RS2 software, but a custom tuned chip (EPL?) or a full 034 standalone setup will free up some more horses for sure.
In my opinion, RS2 software + GT3071 is less than ideal as there is little real world testing (that I know about) and unforseen problems may occur. Going 034 Standalone sounds like a PITA as #1, I'm not good with wiring stuff. #2, I need somebody who knows what they are doing when driving around tuning. (or dyno time). The logistics of having the car towed halfway across the country to EPL also sounds like a PITA. I'm also thinking I may blow a headgasket with the new turbo so a top end rebuild may be in order. Port & polish anyone?

First get your second car and then decide if you still want to upgrade...
There's a good chance once you get a car like an S2k, M Roadster, Miata, etc. you'll no longer want to put the //S on the track and leave it to daily duties only. Those cars were more built for the track environment and are probably more fun in those situations.

From previous discussions...
...I think folks pretty much agree (not everyone, but most) that anything bigger than RS2 is not easily sorted, and not quite daily-driver-ready.
Once you start going stand-alone and all that other stuff, you'll be working out bugs for a while. And that is sort of the opposite of "daily driver".
Eventually, you may work it out to be a "starts and runs fine, every time, 400AWHP", but until that time, you'll be frustrated. And, you'll need to drive it to discover the bugs.
This is exactly the reason I decided to go RS2 and stop. Yeah, the HP is limited, and you don't have the super-fast spool of a BB turbo. But it's off-the-shelf daily driver power.
And daily driver reliability is top priority for me. Where is it for you? You want big track power, and the hassles that seem to follow from that, or do you want to be able to drive it all day, every day?

Big 2nd...
I've been in the advanced groups for a while now, and I just don't worry about the horsepower wars. You won't just be out there with RS4s and Z06's, I've run with GT3 Porsches, Ferrari Challenge cars, etc. so even if you max out the GT3071 you'll still be at least 100HP and in some cases more than 1000lb in the wrong direction.
Some things to remember:
- You're there to have fun and learn, not just pass people. I've learned a lot more following people than leading them.
- It's their job to get around you, not your job to get out of their way.
- Last but far from least, just because they're in the Advanced group doesn't mean they can drive- it just means they've been trying to improve for a while. I've personally not just passed but lapped an E39 M5, and I've watched and ridden with a friend that's a better driver than I may ever be in an S6 that passed most of the above all day long with just full RS2 and the stock IC. It's pretty entertaining watch a big stock appearing sedan hassling a fully track prepped 944T ;-)

Myself - yes it will run with RS2, but it's rough. Mihnea has some pretty good files
for GT3071 & 42# inj, that's what I was running.
Best I measured was 332 whp @ 29psi on 91 Octane.

yep, my car. 3071 + 034 Stage IIC
drive it daily, fully sorted out.
As far as tuning I could supply you with my map if you'd like. 330whp @ 25psi boost (definitely more on tap, just haven't had time to go back to the dyno).
Wiring: I could build another adapter harness like the one on my car, contact me if you're interested.
