How to replace B5 S4 steering wheel with RS4 Steering wheel (thanks to TeddyBGame And LI S4) BWW
My Steering wheel was quite worn after 7 years
of use, so I impulsively bought an RS4 black
Air leather from eBay from some dude in Poland.
I had read about the airbag being from a B6
A4/A6/Allroad, so I figured I'd just get one
from salvage (not that easy).
When the wheel came in from eBay, it looked like this:

After talking to LI-S4 and TeddyBGame about this,
I learned that not only would I need an airbag,
but the horn bracket and wire harness. The wire harness
can be purchased from the dealer, but apparently,
the horn bracket is only available when the steering wheel
comes complete from a car.
Well, I managed to find an A6 Sport steering wheel (new) with
the airbag (and bracket!!!!).

Here's the wheels side-by-side with one of the
two brackets removed:

But, there's one more bracket to remove. See the metal piece
in the picture above? That needs to be transferred as seen here:

Put it back together and Voila! Done!

Costs
Steering wheel $350 shipped
A6 Steering wheel & airbag $400
A6 steering wheel sold on eBay w/o the airbag and hornbracket $255
and I hope to sell my B5 S4 airbag for 150-200.
Net $350ish.

My S4 wheel badge was worn away (new badge). Paint and chrome worn right off.
