Default So..... back from the dragstrip round 8!

Just back from the track.... got 8 passes.....

Conditions:
47F, 66% humidity, 30.24P DA of 450.... Track sits at 1230 so pretty awesome day.. actually a little better than last time even with a increase of 400 ft on the DA.... It was a little sunnier and the track was hooking better.....

Car.... 2010 Audi S4 S-tronic, sportsdif, 19's, 1/4 tank 100oct, removed spare and tools. 3,050 miles....

Mods... Strat intake, 100 octane APR tune, and Miltek non-res exhaust/dp's...

Launced off of idle... Remember this is one of those slow non-LC 2010's

Unfortunately, my drunk brother was hung over and couldn't come after he committed yesterday.... Wife wasn't into it as it wasn't the warmest out and she had stuff to do.... So, no vids! Sorry! Slip link is attached for best two slips.

Here are the top 4 runs...

1.7638 60ft
5.1628 330ft
7.8970 1/8 mile
90.82 1/8 mph
??.???? 1000 foot et
12.1987 1/4 time
116.21 mph

1.7816 60ft
5.1510 330ft
7.8754 1/8 mile
90.84 1/8 mph
??.???? 1000 foot et
12.1693 1/4 time
116.23 mph

1.7395 60ft(best ever)
5.1047 330ft
7.8261 1/8 mile
91.21 1/8 mph
??.???? 1000 foot et
12.1140 1/4 time
116.81 mph

1.7470 60ft
5.0713 330ft(best ever)
7.7848 1/8 mile(best ever)
91.36 1/8 mph (best ever)
??.???? 1000 foot et
12.0694 1/4 time (best ever)
116.82 mph

Overall happy but dissapointed I couldn't get into the 11's as that was my goal for the year and I was ever so close! I did get my best 60ft time, 1/8 et and 1/4 et so I feel good about that.... Very happy with a 7.7x 1/8th time... Met a 70 year old gentelemn in a STS-V that was running 12.4 at 113 with just a tune.... He told me he would be getting an exhaust, intake and pulley this winter and then wanted to run me next year.... I told him I would have more mods also! It is just so cool to talk cars with a 70 year old guy who was like a kid with his car, hopefully that is me in 30+ years.

Anyways, that is it for this year.... Lots of things to do over the winter and I look forward to early spring, where I should be solidly in the 11's and hopefully 11.5's.

Thanks to APR, Stratmosphere, and Miltek for making it possible!

Thoughts/comments/?'s

later Ron

Prime - Excellent runs. You'll be in the 11's next year no problem. You're still running the 19" OEM summer tires, right?

Thanks man.... Yes stock 19's with dunlop sport maxx gt.... I will most likely get some lightweight forged ones with lighter tires this winter.... Tried to buy some killer ones from a forum member but the gentlemen never got back to me on them or the cats... Guessing he sold locally.... No biggie...

Great runs....

When you launch are you in S or manual mode? I have found my best launches from dead stop are putting in manual mode and just flooring it and let car shift on its own. Find it takes to redline at each shift without me having to do a thing.

12.07, 12.07, 12.07, 12.07, 12.07, 12.07, 12.07, 12.07. Ok I've got it memorized.

Great job! What got you there from your previous best? Was it the lightening of the car or was it the colder weather?

I turn esp/asr off, dynamic mode, D mode, barely trigger the 2nd light, left foot brake and hammer the gas on the 2nd to last yellow while dumping the brake.... let the car shift itself and hold my line as tight as possible.... I know the track fairly well with a few thousand passes! LOL

Thanks! It was actually, 12.0694 DA wasn't as good as the last time, but the track was hooking better and I did take the spare and tools out finally. I also had 1/4 tank vs 3/8....
