RS6 Detailed
Hey All,
I've done quite a bit to the car over the last month:
Had a full detail, took care of some paint work, added window tint. These are the photos Ed at High End Detail in Atlanta took after the detail. It was COLD that day!
This last weekend I had NSX JR upgrade my head unit to a 2007 model RNS-E Navigation Plus system with Bluetooth, XM and iPOD interface. The head unit upgrade is by far the best mod so far. Nav is 10X better than the stock RS6 nav I had before. Sound is 3X better with DSP and a better/cleaner sound. The hands-free Bluetooth works great with my Sprint Treo 700P and the IceLink iPod interface is also much, much better than the tape adapter! My iPOD remains tucked away in the glove box, stays charged and I can access most everything via the head unit.
My only gripe is that the ***** are on the right side of the center console and a little bit of a reach. My Pro-Clip Cell phone holder is kind of in the way of the ***** as well. Lee told me that this unit was designed to work with steering wheel controls found in newer units that the RS6 does not have. Ah well, not a big deal. I also wish it were a touch screen interface like my Lexus instead of the silly circle interface with the ****. I would for sure recommend this upgrade and NSX Jr. to perform the install... no way I would have been able to do this in the 3 hours he did if at all. Lee rocks!
Pictures of the head unit and install will be posted soon.
Also, I met up with the SE Audi Crew in Smyrna, GA for a dyno day event this weekend. Mostly S4s there. I was the only RS6 owner.
My numbers were 381 WHP and 390 Ft Lbs torque for about a 15% drivetrain loss. They had some difficulty getting a good run in the RS6. The peak HP is in 3rd gear and even in manual mode the tranny kept shifing up to 4th gear. They ran the car 7 times before they got a solid run for me. It was a difficult car to dyno for sure, but I'm pleased with the results. Some of those Stage 3 S4s were posting some huge numbers! It was COLD! What a great group!

I now have a nice baseline before I purchase an APR chip.
So that's it for now. The only other complaint I have is the amount of miles I'm putting on the car. I bought it in early December with 47K and now it has 53K already! Ah well.
Oh yeah, I also bought an RS6 front grill badge that never came with the car when I bought it from the dealer. It's not on in these photos but arrived two days after the car was detailed.
