Road Rage Gone Bad

Road Rage Gone Bad
So, I'm on my way to the dentist this morning. Traffic is moving surprising well on 280 North to San Francisco. I notice in my rear view mirror that a silver Lexus is lane jumpin' and quickly approaching me. Soon thereafter, he's about 2 feet off my bumper. At this point, I hold up my hand and motion him backward (yes, when I was younger, it would have been the finger or windshield wiper fluid). He accepted my request and dropped back about 30 feet. I was pleasantly surprised.
However, my comfort soon turned to fear and disgust. He swerved from lane 1 (the fast lane) to lane 4 and quickly back to cut me off in lane 1. I proceeded to drop back 100ft, `cause I don't play those games anymore. Within a second or two, he locked up his brakes and came to a complete stop in lane 1 (70 mph to zero) in rush hour traffic. Of course, I did the same and finished about 20 feet behind him. All is good, right? Nope. I hear the unforgettable screeching behind me. My eyes were locked on the Lexus, so, I couldn't look out the back. I feel my car being hit and soon a car flies over my hood and lands on its roof top, just missing the Lexus, who proceeded to speed off and exit the 1st off ramp.
Although the car behind me managed to miss my tail, it caught my left rear tire and fender, hit the median cement divider, which caused it to redirect its path toward my car, and hit my left front fender for its summersault launch. By the way, a few feet closer, it would have plowed through my driver-side window and I would be lying in a hospital bed somewhere instead of typing this message.
The passenger in the over-turned car was able to crawl from the vehicle to safety. They took him away in a stretcher and he was bleeding in a few places. I hope that he'll be okay.
So, Mr. Lexus clearly made a few friends this morning `cause the police rec'd approximately 10 calls confirming his aggressive behavior. In addition, they managed to catch him thanks to many who reported his license plate.
Needless to say, it's been quite a stressful day. I'm in one piece and safely home! Here are some pictures from my Treo (poor quality). No tellin' when I'll get her back from the shop. But, at this point, I don't really care. . .

Damage could have been MUCH worse.....
given how you described the incident. Anyway, looks like the scumbag will probably be doing some jail time.
Sometimes, I'm glad I live in the country. Sunday mornings on most Cali freeways is far worse than peak rush around me. In fact, traffic is the main reason I moved from Boston 9 years ago. I so much love to drive and I HATE traffic. The only thing worse is not having an immediately available free parking spot at your destination. Another reason I moved from Boston.
Glad YOU are well. The damage is really minor.
