Visited today the annual Helsinki Motor Show. I managed to snap a couple of pics of the R8. Also had a chance to sit inside. What a stunning car! No photo does justice to it.

I'm asking you this because it didn't seem very black to me. It's almost like very dark gray. I was expecting it to be closer to pure black. I think those pics I posted are pretty accurate. It probably looks quite a bit darker outdoors though.

Also, when is the V10 going to be available....I just received my RS4, and am thinking that the next upgrade will be in about 3 years.....always loved that Pturbo car................

Oh, you'll forget the 350z as soon as you see the R8!

According to Audi people I talked to the V10 will be introduced about a year from now and it will be available here in Europe in about 18-24 months, so maybe the first half of 2008 if we are very lucky.

My S4 Brilliant Black is very very black, my friends A4 in Phanton looks dark grey when side to side

I have to say it's not quite black enough for my taste, I would have preferred Brilliant black. As you mentioned, Phantom looks dark grey. I'm sure the powerful lights at the motor show made it look even lighter than in normal circumstances but still I think it would look nicer if it were as black as your S4. But it's good that you know what the Phantom looks like so you won't be surprised.

Here's one more photo of the R8. I underexposed this shot so it looks darker than it actually was, but this is the shade of black I personally like very much.
