Pics of my Mugello Blue Q7
Finally got my Q7 last night. Here are a few random comments and some exterior pics.
Long wait...
I ordered in 11/30/06 so its been a long wait. Part of the delay was the unavailability of the 21" S-Line pkg. at that time. I waited a few days before deciding to go with the 20" S-Line and then I think the dealer didn't get the order modified until mid to late December.
First impressions...
LOVE the color, especially in the sunlight. Wish I could have got the 21" wheels, but the 20"s arent bad and will be more practical for those trips to Tahoe during the winter. The drive is so smooth and quiet compared to my FX35, but it still retains the feeling of being connected to the road and driving a sports car or sedan, not a 5000+ lb. truck.
Grumblings...
I'm probably being picky here and none of these were really a surprise to me, its just you have certain expectations when buying a vehicle of this level...maunal adjustment for steering wheel tilt; AMI iPod slideout tray is cheap feeling and takes up what little room was in the center console; trip computer not a standard option on the 3.6 Premium. No place to store cargo cover when 3rd row is up.
Trade-in tip of the day...
My FX35 was leased, but I had a pretty low residual on it, compared to KBB.com anyway, so I had the Audi dealer give me a trade-in offer thinking I had about $2K in equity on it. The residual was $19K and the dealer offered me $17.5K, claiming the market was too soft on the FX to justify anything more. My salesperson suggested that I take it to CarMax because he had heard that they sometimes offer closer to KBB trade-in values. I took his advice and CarMax gave me $21K. So if anyone is looking for a no-hassle way to unload their used vehicle without selling it private party, CarMax may not be a bad way to go.
Now for the pics...

Re: very nice.... need 4.2 to get power steering wheel...
looks great, congrats..... Audi has some weird option configs.... you have to get the 4.2 to get the power tilt/telescopic steering wheel and the rear window side shades....
