A priceless moment at the dealership today :-)
Buying your daughter a 2007 Triple White Beetle Convertible for her Sweet 16: $26,630...
Buy her a Hamster as a surprise present: $10...
Having the Hamster get loose in the car on the ride home, crawling up into the ventilation ducts, eating some wires: About 9 hours of labor at $94...
Having the parent's tell the service dept. they don't want the hampster anymore: Priceless!
Luckily our afternoon was kind of slow, so several techs pitched in to take everything out of the front of the Beetle to pull up the carpet and padding. Several of the wires in the dash had been chewed up, the soft padding under the carpet was nested in. We found the little guy under the padding close to the hood pull handle on the left side, he was kind of scared and dehydrated. One of the techs named him Beetle and is going to take care of him. That's one expensive hamster. :-)
BTW, the VW has 1184 miles on it.
