my 200 has a hard start help please
my 200 takes forever to start when cold and if you let it warm up and shut it off for a few minutes it is also hard to start then.it turns over for 15 to 20 seconds and you have to hold the gas down to get it to start. once it starts it takes a minute or two before it runs smoothly. it smokes during that process and smells extreemly rich. i thought it was the cold start injector but i unplugged and no difference. also every now and again it will lope up and down from 1200 to 2000rpms when you let of the gas while driving or at idle at a light. it only does this in gear. any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
stephen

If it were my car I'd start with the ISV and the TPS [idle stabilizer valve and throttle position sensor, respectively] Clean the ISV and follow Bentley's direction re: TPS checking

A couple things to check
Running rich especially at start can mean a few things. Like he said check the TPS, also the inlet air temp sensor. Both of those can cause the ECU to go into default mode and make it run rich.
Another ting to try is when it's running poorly, take the oil filler cap of. It should just die, it also may run bit worse. If it dies it probaby means there isn't vacuum leak. I say probably because there are a couple lines which could still have a problem. If it runs the same, start checking all the rubber lines for looseness and cracks.
Have you pulled any codes?

I had the same problems/symptoms and it turned out to be old, leaky injectors. I had three that were leaking badly.
Once I replaced all five injectors with brand new units the symptoms all disappeared.
