Default sluggish 2000 S4

hey guys,

I was just out driving and decided to push it from a standstill. to my surpirse, i didn't have the power i'm accustomed to after the 4K RPM mark...for those who drive this car, the power that sits you back in your seat.

prior to this, I haven't been hearing anything unusual from the turbos. does this sound like a bad turbo or perhaps loss of pressure due to a bad hose/wastegate or something?

car has been well taken care of for 86K miles.

ideas?

I would first check the intake boot on the throttle boby for tearing on the bottom side. next check for any boost hoses loose or torn. If everything is ok, you will need to take to someone to look at some measuring value blocks in the ECM while driving

you might be getting some boost leak, so maybe a hose got loose or something

really simple, get someone with a VAG tool, you probably through a code and thereby went into limp mode, don't know anyone? pull the ECU fuse when the car is cold, I believe it's number 27, by pulling it you will reset the ECU and the code will be gone. Chances are the code will reapear eventually but atleast you know it's that and not something else.
