Default looking for a reply.

I recently warped my rotors. My car shakes and shudders in light braking. Since I am a student, I cannot afford expensive quality brakes however, I do want to remain safe and sound as well. The following is what I ordered.

I have a 2000 A8 with an earlier vin number.

312 by 25 mm Zimmerman and a brake pad set with the brand name of pagid. Am i screwing my self over with these components and with the "pagid"? Hopefully they will fit my car and size. The website I bought these from is www.sasponline.com

Do let me know asap so I can cancel or order them. Thank you!

Default Student with an A8?

I had a 1967 MGB in college..you are DEFINITELY doing better than I. :-)

You can get Pagid pads from lots of places. I got them directly from Stoptech.

Default ZImmerman and Pagid are both high quality pieces.

Which Pagid pad? The black street?

if you can't afford brake pads, you can't afford the A8.

Default Re: Student with an A8?

No I just graduated..went to look for an A4 and they were all too pricey than a relative/friend wanted to get rid of their A8 and offered me an amazing deal.

Went to a bank put about 3000K..which I saved through college, ( I am a hard worker) down and the monthly payments are 187. I think its a great deal. No one told me about belt changes, pump changes...lol. anyway it made me a bit broke..but oh well life goes on. = )

thanks guys u all rock! I looked at the websites and everyones a wealth of information.

Also I finished replacing the front rotors and brakes...all zimmerman for 280 bucks including labor at Talmage in Ithaca, NY...as compared to Audi dealership asking more than 700-800 bucks for just two. INSANE. =)

Now boston is ready for me.

Default on a positive note, you can drive it for a LONG time as long as you maintain it.

I've had econoboxes that look and feel 10 times older than an Audi built in the same year.

Default 03 A4 1.8 CVT w. Sport Package front pad & rotor options; help needed.

Hello all.
Not sure what front brake type I have on my 03 A4. Car has 75K and time to swap out the Hawk sport pads I installed in 03. I'm thinking it's easier to swap out the OE rotors at home at the same time.
I think my car has the FNR-G 60 calipers. If so that means it has the 320x30 mm rotors.
I don't see this rotor size listed on any parts sites. Can anyone confirm what size rotor I need? I'm looking for better than stock, but strictly street pad & rotor combo.
TIA
Phil
San Jose CA.
