Default A Few RNS-E Pictures

So I had a coding error on the bluetooth module, it now synchs the phone book with the RNS-E. Sometimes I am getting the actual name in my phone book, other times I am getting just a number....maybe it needed more time to synch.

If you touch the display, it gets the blue discoloration.....have to clean it....it comes off, but I have put it in/taken it out about 3 times in the last week, so those are my paw prints.....

Anyhoo......buttons from left to right.....first the radio:

The DIS in the cluster is completely functional for the top line display, only the navigation gives problems to it and goes blank....

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4796.JPG">

For radio, I have XM, FM and AM. You can see the "soft key" on the top right of the RNS-E screen and the key on the top right of the selector **** is pushed, lighting the red light.

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4798.JPG">

Presets can be XM, FM or AM, nice for switching between the them.

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4800.JPG">

Go to CD/TV (mine is a euro unit upgraded to US) and I can choose the MP3 SD card slot, or the CD changer in the trunk....

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4805.JPG">

And the DIS works.....

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4807.JPG">

There is a "Name" button that you can store contacts, put their number and address in so you can either navigate to them or call them very easily.....has other fields also.

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4810.JPG">

Then onto the "Tel" button.....

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4812.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4814.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4816.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4817.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4820.JPG">

Then onto the "Nav" button.....

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4821.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4823.JPG">

It always calculates 3 routes you can choose from.....
<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4826.JPG">

"Info" button gives you your destination and you can scroll up and it gives you the street name you are on.....if no route is active, hit it and it will tell you the street name you are on.

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4832.JPG">

"Car" button just tells you the software version on the D2.....

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4833.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4834.JPG">

<img src="http://www.audipages.com/upgrades/sm_DSC_4836.JPG">

"Setup" gives you a few other options. The button also goes to the "setup" menu for each of the other modes when in that mode, such as when the XM tuner is selected, it brings up options for the tuner, if Nav is selected, it brings up options for the Nav, etc.

Default VERY nice!! A lot of loot and work went into that, I'm glad it's worked out for you.

I still haven't decided if I would get that much additional use out of the RNS-e over the stock nav, bluetooth, and Phatbox+6 CD changer.

Default If I were you....

....the only part I would probably do is to consider the factory bluetooth using existing wiring......and maybe add a XM or Sirius tuner with the Symphony II from a newer car.....both of those things can be had on the Nav Plus forum for about $300, plus bluetooth, another $450 if you wanted to go that route.

Default Do you have the code you used for the bluetooth handy...

I think I need to change my code because I can't get any phone to sync its address book.
I've been able to sync my phone with a 2007 A8L but not my RNS-E.
