Poor Man's AC Recharge
Driving to Hamilton Ontario this afternoon, almost 500 miles, no cheap plane tickets.....and I can't get there until about 7 P.M. Monday evening....
My system has had a small leak for years, have had it recharged through the evacuation method twice, they put dye in it....but it still leaks, not from an obvious place.
I hate having no AC to keep the duct work cool or when driving in the sun even when it is 50 F out....so I need AC!
Got the little fitting to go onto the low pressure cut off switch, remove the switch, jump it.....attach the freon bottle to it.....and charge away. The bottle is about 400 grams, the system takes 750, so I'm not going to over fill it.
The downside of this method is that you don't remove the moisture, etc by evacuating it....so you could cause long term damage.

Hi Paul,
Changing out the TPS is it easier to remome the complete trottle body to access the TPS I tried to remove it using a 90 degree screwdriver but no luck. Is there an easy way to change this out.

Shop.com, it's actually a R134 tank adaptor
It fits good, but not perfect.

The connection from the bottle (black plastic) to the fitting
It threads on perfectly to the fitting. Sometimes you have to rock it a little or push the freon hose on all the way to get it to flow.
