Did Audi Make a V-8 Manual Transmission A6 from years 92-96...
in europe? I am asking because I have come across a Burned Out Avant looks to be Mid 90s with the 3.8l V-8 DOHC engine and a manual transmission. The car had an interior fire so everything above the floor and behind the fire wall is toast. All parts are marked in german and the guy who showed me the car said his Uncle brought it back from europe in 1999.
Anyway, I have looked throughout the model guide, I will try and post pics later tonight, but probably tomorrow.

Re: Sort of...
Ah Ha, so maybe this is an S6? I will post pics when I get back to my computer. It would be the Cast Iron 4.2 correct and work very well in my 1991 90 Quattro 20V

Re: Sort of...
All 3.6 and 4.2 V8s are aluminum block...regardless of what the Audiworld model guide says. The 92-95 U.S. V8 model is a D4 platform similar to the earlier Type 44. The 92-97 C4 was never delivered to the US with a V8. Don't know about Europe except for the S6 Plus. The S6 Plus was a special model built for Audi by quattro GMbH and only available in Europe.
