Car purchase, any suggestion?
Looking to pick up an off lease 99 1.8T. I want the sports package however they have been harder to come by. Is it worth waiting for one with the sports supension or should I get the non-sport one. Also is it worth holding out for a 99.5? Hopefully soon I can be part of your discussions about my new car.

Well, if you don't mind DBW, my 2000 A4 is up for grabs.
Details: 00 1.8T Silver exterior/Onyx interior Quattro/Manual/Sport/Convenience/Cold Weather/Xenon
All service records, 5K oil changes w/Mobil 1, 48K highway miles, very clean inside and out, $20K. I'm in SE PA (about 10 miles from Trenton NJ). S4 is on the way, so this one has to go.

Re: I would hold out for a 99.5 quattro.
Thanks for the input. I am in western CT and I have been checking with the local dealers (Fairfield,Danbury, and Watertown). I am kind of leaning towards purchasing from a dealer to get the "Audi Assured" program for the peace of mind. This is my first real car purchase so I don't want to screw it up. Just finished my degree and I am looking for a job. The funds are kind of tapped right now but I am looking to spend about $20K.

A little info from a post a while back.................
Anyone about to buy a car should have the dealer put IN WRITING that there is no/little damage/repairs to the car. Also ask them IN WRITING that you want all the invoices for this car. If it was a dealer-trade, then get those invoices from that dealer before you sign the papers. If you complete the entire deal while they wait to get the invoices from the other dealer, say it will take them a few days, then don't take the car home. you have the right to refuse the vehicle even if everything is signed, so long as you don't take it off the lot. They can do a title exchange if you finance the car.
Don't forget to run the vin thru carfax

Drive by wire.
Instead of a cable connecting the go pedal to the throttle body, you have sensors and a computer determining the right foot movement, and telling the engine what should be done.
