Exhaust , Software, & Indigestion. 2006 A3.
If you have an A3 matched with DSG, you have surely noticed the unique bark from the exhaust when shifting into 2nd and 3rd gears.
A friend with an aftermarket catback system, is still "cuttin' the cheese". Meanwhile, I had the Milltek full turbo-back exhaust installed. It includes a high-flow catalytic converter which I gladly affirm, defeated the heartburn complication.
You may miss the fart-can sound of the factory downpipe. I don't. Neither do I crave the baffling in the factory cat.

It has been a few months since the installation. Now that the Milltek system is broken in, it sounds outstanding. It isn't too loud. However it delivers an alluring warning that the car isn't stock. And of course this system will free up some extra horsepower, especially if you're chipped!

To quote Stratmosphere... Install the full Milltek Turboback exhaust and O.CT tuning software. Cars in the UK with this package have been dynoed to 273bhp.
Whether you have DSG or not, O.CT's smooth power does not radically call it quits at 5000 or 5500rpm. This has been a serious issue with the A3 in the U.S. But not for O.CT! My DSG equipped car?
It pulls hard to the top.
