OK guys---got so stinkin' fed up with the damned 4x108mm lug pattern that I finally decided to do something about it. Have been wanting to run my RS4 wheels on my '93 A90, and they're double-drilled at 5x100 and 5x112. (Got 'em from a guy in conneticut for $400 shipped, 'cause 3 of the 4 were bent. had all 4 professionally straightened) Kept hearing all these threads on here about the "european RS2 hubs" that (supposedly) are like 500 or 600 just for the front pair, and thought that's ridiculous, why can't I just do my own? So I went to my big vdub/audi wrecking yard here in the puget sound (largest on the west coast) and got all 4 hubs for fairly cheap. Started working with a local machine shop here who actually KNEW what they were doing, and got this process started. Had the lug holes welded up, then they were drilled and tapped for 5x100mm, then re-trued and balanced. Bada-bing. When I proposed this idea to several audi guys I know, I got the usual "$%#@! you, you're an idiot, it'll never work, there's too many problems to work out, we've tried that before, can't be done, etc etc etc..." Well ya know what--the skeptics can kiss my kahuna, quite frankly, 'cause they're DONE. Pair of new German *** wheel bearings (my cost about $18 apiece), already modified the rotor lug pattern on my mill to match, and away we go. can't wait to get these on next week. Anybody interested in getting in on this, seeing as these guys of mine are now all dialed in on what exactly has to be done to make this happen, let me know. There is a little bit of clearancing that has to be done, in particular on the fronts. If you're interested in more information on how this is done, you can email me at roadsportnw@juno.com and I'll fill you in on the details. Bottom line? No more disgusting 4x108 that is hard as hell to find good aftermarket wheels in--there's a TON in 5x100.

I mean no disrespect here, partner---are you the general moderator of the threads or forums? I'm still kinda' new here compared to some of these guys. I guess i didn't really think I was "selling" anything, seeing as how i was merely offering to help some of these guys modify their lug patterns through a shop that I started working with. I myself (and my partner) do actually have a small, part-time vdub and audi business, but we have never "advertised" it here at any time--this post had nothing to do with that. We are not a machine shop---don't have the capacity to do this. (Wish I did!) Heck--I just figured out how to post a picture here tonight for the first time. Wasn't even aware of the ability to "edit" a post after it's done. But i'm sure not here to rattle any cages or break the rules--but i see guys with their own personal "items they're selling", so to speak, on their pages whenever they post. So I'm honestly not sure where the balance is struck here? Is there no way to get the word out here about a (relatively) new process, mod or procedure without violating the "rules of the house"? I can understand the site's desire to not see people abuse the place or make money off your site. Please advise.

Default You can explain how it's done and perhaps mention that people email you for more information...

...but blatently saying you can sell pairs for X amount of dollars is a direct no-no, business or not.

OK, got it. Actually, truth be told, I didn't know it was authorized to put my own personal email in a post like that, otherwise yes, I would have just said something down at the bottom like, if you want more information about these, please email at blahblah.com or whatever. I wouldn't have put a price in there or anything. Ok so the next dumb question out of the box, is how do I go about "editing" my own post after the fact? I'll go back and start looking around and see if i can find some guidance on this....
