Long post warning! After 11 years, 5 months, and 7 days...
*gulp*
Someone other than me is the proud owner of my beloved Petunia.
(Long sappy story ahead...I apologize in advance!)
That's right. It's a sad day, but a good day. I'm a big dork for admitting this, but each night this week as I've spent the last of my quality time prepping her...I'd get all teary. What a sap, right? She's taken me to high school graduation, made it through 4 years of college, 3 years of grad school, and 4 years after that! Lots of memories since I bought her on March 23, 1996. That and the fact that she's been a great car and the catalyst for my devotion to the brand (and why I'm involved in so many Audi-related activities!) made it super hard to even considering selling! But she needed more love than I was willing to give to her. I have other Audis that need attention AND I take the bus to work...so she sat a lot, and I didn't have the time to love her and drive her as much as I wanted, or as much as she deserved. So I made the hard decision to let someone take care of her.
The good news is that the new owner is a die-hard Audi nut...some of you may know Tony from Oklahoma. He's infamous for buying a 4000 on the other side of the country (sight unseen other than ebay pics!), flying out, and driving it up to the Carlisle g2g, to then drive it home alllll the way back to Oklahoma with not much more than a spare fuel pump. A post by him here. He has big plans for her including dropping a V8 into her, and he SWORE to me she wouldn't be parted out. He's not on the forums much, but hopefully he'll keep me updated on how she's doing. (And yes, when he drove her down the driveway, followed by his buddy who took him out here, I sobbed like a little baby! Scott actually skipped his soccer game to be here tonight to make sure I didn't run down the driveway after Tony and Petunia!)

I know I may love her more than Tony, but he'll be able to do all the stuff that I wanted to do but didn't have the time or means!
I'll miss you, Petunia! But of course I'll never forget you. And your new friend Tony will do everything for you even better than I would! And sooner! And he promised to give me updates...just get him safely home to Oklahoma so he can really give you some love!

But never fear...I'm not going anywhere...I'm still going to post ***** on this forum, and really do it up with annoying posts for Carlisle!

Awww Morgan :)
*hugs* for you!
Good post, and I know the feeling about letting a car go, but this was a tough thing to do.
At least its going to a great home. Having alot of us met Tony at Carlisle he is a very stand up guy that is gonna take care of her

i feel for you. it sucks to loose a close freind.
i've had my 84cgt since 88. i will never sell it, ever. my wife thinks i should just be burried in it, i agree. she agrees it will always stay in the family should something happen to me.
please accept my condolences in this time of grief. remeber the happy times.
