SAI delete for the 30V 2.8
I finally received a set of secondary air injection delete plates. They go in place of the EGR valves on the back of each head:

these are designed for the 1.8T engine but fit the 2.8 ports also. Well at least on the passenger side head it fits fine

on the driver's side only one bolt hole aligns. Not much of a problem IMO, even with one bolt this plate is solid in place and well sealed.

There is also a resistor that goes into the secondary air pump connector once it's removed so that the ECU doesn't throw an error. Since my car is dead I can't try it out right now but I believe it will work fine.

Why do this? Well, for one to get rid of some hardware under the hood. I doubt there's a performance advantage here. In my case removal of the sec. air pump will make room for a large intake cone in the lower bumper area.

here's what the sec air pump looks like once removed

the left tube usually connects to the airbox, or in my case has a separate breather element on it. The right tube connects to a metal Y pipe that runs under the intake manifold to the ports on each head that were plugged in the previous post.

How are you liking the "delete"? Glad you did it? Just curious how the car is running without it.
Well at least "once" it's running...lemme know
Any engine lights being thrown? Fault codes?
Just curious =)
