I would like to run my engine out side of the car on a dyno. Is there a way to use the stock ECU or am I stuck purchasing a stand alone. If so does any one have any preferance.

I am building a mid engine car from the frame up and it would be nice to shake down the engine out side of the car, especially since it's not built yet. I have looked at Autronic ECU's. (http://www.autronic.com) They seem to be competitively priced and have all the bells and whistles (Any feedback on aftermarket ECU's would be great), however in an effort to ease the budget I am looking for a way to be able to use what I have with maybe a new chip? Any ideas?
