GIAC 2.0T dyno plot with Milltek exhaust and Eurocode test pipe
Since I posted the stock baseline dyno results last week, the car has been fitted with a full Milltek exhaust and a Eurocode cat-delete test pipe and then flashed with GIAC's programs.
Today I had the car dynoed first with the stock software and the new exhaust components to see what gains come from just the exhaust mods. Then the car was flashed with GIAC and dynoed again to see the GIAC software gains.
The results:

Green: 154.1 max hp - stock software and stock exhaust (from last week)
Blue: 158.3 max hp - stock software, Eurocode test pipe and Milltek exhaust.
Red: 179.0 max hp - GIAC 93 octane program, Eurocode test pipe and Milltek exhaust.
All figures are at the wheels. The Dyno Dynamics crank estimate for the GIAC dyno is 238.1 hp.
My personal conclusions:
1. GIAC torque gains are awesome. Nearly 300 lb-ft max torque (crank estimate), and very early too. Peaks at just over 3500 RPM.
2. The GIAC gains are very noticeable on the road, but on paper they sound tame (20hp gain). The thing is though, if you look at the gains at any given RPM and compare stock vs GIAC at the same RPM, the gains are closer to 50hp at times. It's just that MAX hp occurs sooner with GIAC, so the MAX hp difference is only 21hp. See the graph to understand what I mean.
3. The exhaust and the test pipe are a rip off! There is a combined gain of about 4hp. I imagine the individual gains of each are even less.

dont understnad???
that would make you 45whp under me.i dynoed 224whp with a pulley, test pipe only, carbonio, and a apr chip 93. i know for a fact that a pulley and cai would not give you 45whp...how can that be? even if the place i dynoed my car was off, 45whp is alot to be off by, and if thats the case let me know so i can redyno, then make that loser swallow the real results.

Dyno Dynamics is very conservative
For example, I had my k04 A6 2.7T dynoed at 325whp on one dyno (Dynojet I think) and then the same car got 289whp on Dyno Dynamics:

Same car:

Do you know what kind of dyno you had yours done on?

Stock software won't make full use of the exhaust and test-pipe...
and when you step up to the GIAC software you are making more use of the exhaust modifications. I guarantee you would see a decent loss if you removed the exhaust parts and ran just the software. They work in harmony and parts don't singularly add bhp that can be added up, they work together to create a singular bhp number.
Cheers,

not to mention there is some adaptation time with the software to fully utilize hardware upgrades
The car will make more power when its fully adapted.
Either way with the massive Midrange gain like that it should feel like a different car.
