Sad day for my 12v...
I am parting ways with my beloved 96 A4 later today. I decided that a 12v automatic was just not fun enough for me any more (mainly because of the automatic). I bought the car 4 years ago when I was a sophomore in college, it had 111k miles then. I purposely stayed away from the 1.8T just so I wouldn't be tempted to modify it. A few months after I got the car I found this place and I learned that I might be able to do some of my own maintenance. I started slow, and with a few people I met from the midwest forum we changed the control arms and all four shocks. I finally became comfortable doing work by myself and I have since changed all 4 wheel bearings, timing belt, and several other things. To make a long story short, this place is great.
This is what it looks like as I am going to sell it today, minus the wheels. I am selling it for $5,200 with the stock wheels. It has 155k miles, not too bad IMO.

But on the brighter side, I have already got a replacement for it. I actually got it 3 weeks ago and have been driving it since. It is a 2001.5 PES T-28 A4 with Koni coilovers, APR exhaust, and a couple of other goodies, including a manual trans. It has 55k miles and the timing belt was replaced by the PO right before he sold it.
I got it for $12.5k which I think is a pretty good deal.
