Default Why don't 235/40 ZR18 95Y XL Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 show up on TireRack for 2004 S4 Avant? Gary?

I've seen some threads about TireRack saying Michelin don't make tires for the B6 S4. But what is wrong with these?

Are they new or something? I see that Michelin also make some 91Y SL versions, which I agree don't match the load rating required.

Default Unsure, just do a search by size rather than by vehicle

until the error is fixed. These work fine on the vehicle.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&amp;url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>

Default That's what I did to find them, I'd just like some assurance that they are "approved" for the S4

Because searching for tires by size brings up way way more tires than searching by vehicle.

they do NOT need to be "approved" if they fit. Others run them w/ no problems.

Default It seems to me that you risk rim damage or poor steering response if

the load rating is exceeded, especially with that big heavy V8 over the front wheels.

Correct. They meet the correct size and load, they are fine on that car.

Be assured that they're fine.

TireRack's search for tires for the S4 does not filter out tires with too low of a load rating...FYI
