i have an 06 2.0t avant with stock sport suspension and id like to get some 19" VM RS4 reps for it. i also might lower the suspension so id like to make sure the tires dont rub with it lowered and people in the car so im also wondering what wheel offset, 38?

Default Start with the oe size dimensions, measure your clearances underneath.

From there, knowing the oe offset (stamped on wheel) you need to do some "cyphering". 245 is 10mm greater in cross-section than the 235.
Go to Tirerack site and the particular tires you are thinking of. Each tire in the site has a spec within it's link there. Then work in the offset from the 1010 site. It will take alittle time, but this is only way unless you know of someone with the same experience. It comes down to measuring clearances, tire diameters, cross-section and offsets. I expect the source you buy the VMs from can guide you thru.
