Hey guys, or tirerack
if i search s8 tires shows 265/35/20 but for a8 shows 255/35/20 is there a difference in width?
I have the oem S8 wheels/tires on my 04 A8L , now i need 2 rear tires, for the price of the 2 rears I can buy a set of continentals from tirereack but in a 255/35/20 size.. my original tires are re050A 265/35/20.. can I put the 255's? or stay with 265?

The 265/35R20 is about 0.3" wider and 0.3" taller. Check your clearances both front and rear. If you've got the space, I see no reason why you couldn't use this size as long as you do so on all four corners.

Tires

You can go all the way out to 275's...
on 9" rims--the stock tire for the W12 and apparently now the S8 from another post mention. 275/35-20 that is. 275's buys you yet a bit more width, but more importantly height. Audi speedo reads fast anyway in the A8, so the bigger tires actually get it closer to accurate. Very nice ride too, and it fills up wheel wells a little better. Since both the 265's and 275's are stock on various D3's, it says Audi thinks they work well.
