Falken Azenis ST115 vs Ziex 512
Anyone have a good reason to pick one over the other assuming the price is the same? Looking at 235/40-18. I'm leaning towards the Azenis because of a good review I read online but they seem like very similar tires from the specs.

all season vs summer.. ST115 is summer, 512 is all season
the ST115 will have better performance in non-snow/ice situations, and the 512 will probably last longer, but perform so-so in comparison.
I'd personally go ST115 between the two.. but then again for the small jump in price I'd go with the GRB FK451 for a little more performance over ST115.

P-Zero Nero M/S?
Thanks. I've had AVS ES100s for the past couple years and was perfectly happy with them...but my current budget is making me go as cheap as possible so I'm picking one of the Falkens.
The Pirelli P-Zero Nero M/S is also an option for a few more bucks...there is a $50 rebate offer.

We have had good luck with both good handling and quiet
I have the 512 on our A6 avant a stock car and love them. I also tried them on my S6 fully lowered car and didn't like them. With the sport suspension they felt spongy so I upgraded to the St115 without issue. In my opinion the 451 lacks any advantage over the St115 and you loose treadwear rating by a Third. The 512 was that consumer magazines #1 rated performance all-season tire.

I am on my second half set of 512's...
I'm in NY/NJ so all season is a financial must for a single year round set. I replaced the stock oem allroad garbage with the 512's
225-55-17. The dry and rain handling is wonderfull. I've had them on at Limerock Track for my first track day and they never let me down.. (or slide). I am an aggresive driver. I normaly do 70-80 MPH on NY/NJ Highways...daily. Plus bumper to bumper, pot holes, roads from hell in NY, etc. I have 65K miles on my 19 month old 03 allroad. (lowered -402 suspension and h-sports) Due to alginemnet issues I had to replace the rears at 15K.. not the tires' fault. My original two were moved to the newly aligned rear and the new ones went on the front.
So far I have put on 36K miles and still have the first set on the rear in place. They will be on the wear strips in another 4K miles I estimate. The fronts now have 21K on them and the wear is even and the handling is wonderful.
Even in NY City Winters, I have had no problem with these and will continue to get them. At $93 its a bargain.

Re: I am on my second half set of 512's...
I only got about 20k out of my AVS ES100s...although they are only a 280 treadwear tire. The ST115 is definitely the best price and it sounds like they are a perfectly good tire so that's what I'll go with.

Re: If you can use a summer only..then sure..do it.
Well, I've been fine with my AVS ES100s for 2 years. I'm in SE Virginia so snow/ice is rare. I might hit some once a year when I visit PA over the holidays but as long as I'm careful the Quattro seems to make up for the tires.
