Are these tires to wide to put on a A4 2.8 stock.

225 is the Biggest you can put on the Stock 16's, 235 is the widest you can put on 17's

But the control arm moves with the wheel when the wheel moves, hits a bump, etc. Plus, the tire only flexes at the bottom when taking a turn, this control arm is at the top.

You need to get aftermarket rims with a lower offset (ET 35). If you're doing that, why stick with 16"?

Aren't you the guy who is planning to get the new 2002 A4? I wouldn't buy tires until you have the car, since no one knows for sure it is using the same offset. Although at this time it sure looks like it will.

I have 17X8 1/2 SSR Competitions fitted with 245/45/17 size tires. They look great, feel great and there is no problem with fitment (i.e. no rubbing, scraping, etc.). If the comment was specifically directed toward this not working on an A4 then I apologize as I'm refering to an A6. The statement as it was written was pretty general though and thought I'd throw that info out.

Yeah I'm going to get the new A4. I'm not buying the tires yet just wondering cause I read that 225 was the widest and I wanted to know what I could do to put 255's on them. I read in your other one you said get 8-8.5" rims That is prob what I will have to end up doing. Thanks

The limiting factor is that all tires are not the same dimensions.
