I drove from Amherst, MA to Englishtown, NJ on Sat morning. I went with ner947, a very good friend of mine from my home town.

A few noteworthy things I have to mention:
-ChefBob didn't show (bastage!).
-Emre didn't show, even though he said he was going to (source).
-We successfully were able to get the drag race announcer guy to page "Eric Fletcher." I think my friend and I were the people who found that most amusing.
-There are way more attractive women in NJ/NY than there are in MA... and there were lots at the show. All the jabronis brought their girlfriends.
-We all have AIDS (more on this later).

The closer we got to Waterfest, the more hooligans we spotted:

I did a VW "autocross" test-drive in a TDI. It was fun:


They gave out shirts at the end that said "I helped offset carbon emissions today." Uh, yeah... I offset carbon emissions by driving extra.

Nick and Chris were very kind to let me stay in their room.




We stayed at the Best Western. It was full of VW hooligans, and it was a lot of fun.


We drank. The hooligans did burnouts. All was well.
