Tranny problems, new to vag-com. No DTC's showing. How do I set up to check tranny while driving.

What do you want to check?
Sounds like you already know it's slipping. If there are no fault codes, the problem is of a mechanical/hydraulic nature which a scan-tool isn't likely to be able to isolate.
However, I will defer to anyone more knowledgeable about automatic trannies than I am since I'm far from an expert on them.
