I'm trying to understand the reason for doing key matching. What is it actually?
My wife's A4 got this after doing a scan;

checked on fault codes ross-tech wiki, something about key mismatch.

some info, the car comes with 3 spare key (2 remote and 1 for duplicating), 1st owner and 3/4 years age. A4 type B7.

Clear the fault. Try locking and unlocking the car using both remotes.

These systems sometimes throw faults simply because they haven't "seen" one of the keys in a while.

Update;

Ok, initially pressed the keys on spare remote-key, no reply from the car. Then cleared the fault and try with both keys and faults gone.

Car is in good state now.
