Default while I wait for my B8 I thought I'd get a ...

<center><img src="http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a369/silver30v/425c_3.jpg"></center><p>V8

It was sold by Audiconnection a few years back (they literally took their website apart within the last 3 days; I bought the car 2 days ago.)

I will need much training, counseling, and money to have and own this car.

I will be asking lots of questions on Audifans, the Carlounge, Audiworld, etc etc.

I always wanted a Type 44 or UrS car, but I really thought I'd end up with a 91 or 95 Avant. But this beast is so rare, I had to go for it.
I've heard 3 numbers as to how many V8Q 5-spds were originally imported to the US: 79, 76, and 47. Audiconnection (Germanautoconnection) said it was one of seven. I'll take it.

Default Numbers. . .

Great car! How many miles?

The 5 speeds were imported in 1990 and 1991. There were 18 imported in 1990 and 53 in 1991. My 90 was manufactured 5/90. Hope that helps.
Enjoy your V8!

Default didn't know any were 1990 models

Miles.... wait for it: about 220k on the car, about 100k on the engine as far as I can tell. At some point, who cares? So much has been done to the car.

I'm really thinking the only mods I wanna do are get better headlights (been spoiled by HIDs on my present and former Audis), a better stereo (or just a CD changer to tide me over), and eventually get rid of the UFOs.

A 6-gang would be nice... is Herr Kluge(?) still rebuilding them?

The car is gorgeous, and has such presence, as you all surely know.

Default Niether did I until I bought this one. . .

from Sunset Audi in 1997. I purchased it from the same salesman who sold it new in 1990. He sold two others that year as well. He tried to find more but was told that only 18 were imported for 1990.

Mine is Titanium on the outside and has a Platinum interior with sport seats. I have G60 Girlings which were on the car when I bought it. I think it came from the factory like that, but I don't have any prof of that.

If I were you, I'd keep the UFO's. They're better than the G60's and prices for replacements are a lot less expensive then they used to be.

As far as the 6MT, I'm not sure who's doing what anymore.

I have the original Bose stereo with a 10 disc player mounted in the trunk. It plays over the FM side of the head unit. Two of the Bose speakers are developing the whistling problem. Have to replace the caps which is common on them.

Default Nice looking v8! Thats in great shape! Heres my friends 5spd

the v8q 5spds are definately rare, but you do see them come around.. i'm trying to convince my friend to not sell his, but with an a6 4.2, its hard to keep two V8s filled with gas...
