Default New Ice Silver 2.0 Coupe

I have enjoyed reading this forum over the last few months and found it helpful. I ordered a 2.0 S-tronic Coupe in April to replace my A4 and took delivery Friday. So far I am very pleased with it and wanted to post a few comments based on some of the things I have read here.

I originally ordered the TT as Light Silver but the factory switched to Ice Silver. I traded a Light Silver A4 and was concerned, based on the color chip in the brochure, that the Ice Silver would be closer to Sahara Silver. I know some of you are tired of silver but I am very happy with the Ice Silver and cannot really tell the difference from Light Silver.

One of the reasons I ordered a car was to get the 17" wheels because of the 5 spoke look and maybe a little better ride quality. I also did not want all the options the inventory cars had. It came with 225/50R17 94W Continental SportContact2 280 AA, A summer tires. I like the wheels and need to put some more miles on it to really evaluate the ride/tires.

As has been noted several times in the forum, the Bluetooth option has the exposed contacts for the cell phone cradle that few people will use. The Audi interior guys must have taken a day off when this one slipped through. A simple solution is to order the rubber insert (Audi part #8J8-863-416-4PK) for $11. The rubber material could be higher quality and the surface under it is not flat but it covers it up nicely. I also got the rubber trunk mat (Audi #8J0-061-180) for $106.

I wondered if the 6W9 filler plate (no front license plate) on the 2.0 would have the chrome strips like the 3.2. The 2.0 test car in Car and Driver did not and I had not seen a 2.0 with this option before. It does have the chrome strips on the flat gray finish and it looks great.

Thank you so much for the article. I've also ordered an Ice Silver coupe and am looking very forward to receiving it.

I have an A6 which I like, but it's really too large for my needs. My wife has an A4 Avant and I love the handling (it's a whole lot more fun to drive and it rides great)!

While the feel for your new TT is still "fresh" in your mind, can you please comment about the ride and handling relative to your A4?

Also, as you have had a chance to put more miles on it, please tell us more about your driving experience.

Thanks!

Default Agree with your assessment on the 17" wheel decision.

Thanks for telling us which tires came with your 17" wheels. Mine will come with 17s. I will opt for 18" wheels/tires later if the handling isn't sharp enough for me.

The TT is my daily commuting car. It has more of a cockpit feeling than the A4 but it still feels roomy to me. I think I will really enjoy driving it every day. I like the S-tronic transmission better than the CVT in my A4. I never really liked the CVT in normal mode and sport mode was too aggressive for daily driving. For me, the 17" wheels on the TT were the best choice. They seem quiet and the handling is fine for me.
