I think a TTS would hold it's own against it on the street or track. Admittedly, I have never been a fan of the Elise. $50+K for a Toyota-engined, unattractive go-cart just doesn't do it for me when you can get a Porsche for less money. Anyhow, I digress.....

Check out the latest Car and Driver mag. They did their Lightning Lap tests, and the almost $60K SUPERCHARGED Elise SC did not do well. With a sticker price about $35K less, the Chevy Cobalt SS smoked the Elise by 3.5 seconds around the track (yes, that constitutes "smoked"). Also, the Cobalt is FWD. I thought it was very telling. And no, I wouldn't buy a Cobalt. But I thought it put some perspective on the "street racer" Elise SC.
