Default Found my post on the way I modified mine....

Remove the existing cup holder, carefully pry off the alum. end caps, use a 3mm Allen wrench, take the thing apart.

I cut off the front holder, with a metal blade in a saber-saw, and smoothed the ends with a Dremel tool.
I cut the plastic base also, and modified the front rubber "flap" to fit in between the new arm.

here it is back together on the new supplied plate from Strat.

Here is what it looks like when it's assembled.

Here it is on the car. It uses the rear existing cup holder mount on the rear of the tunnel.

Default Yes and no...

If you mount this over the rear screw, the cupholder will pivot on the screw.

Unless both seats are moved well back at the same time, it is not a problem. If you put one seat all of the way back, it will simply pivot and you can easily turn it back into position.

If you had 2 very tall individuals in the front seats at the same time, it could be a problem. I'm about 6' with shoes on, and I've had 6'2"-6'3" passengers riding with me, and it has not been a problem.

Didn't block mine enough to be of any concern.

Default Here's my cupholder setup........

I rotated mine 90 degrees when I got my armrest. I found that when rotating it, there was nothing to support either end of the cupholder. I designed a support that did 3 things: solidly supported each end, kept the unit from spinning, moved the cupholder as far back as possible.

The only interference is if the seats are fully back or significantly leaned backwards. I'm 6-1 and never have my seat all the way back.

It is a learned trick to place a drink in the holder, but you learn it quickly.

I am currently working on a design for a cupholder to go at the corner of each seat next to the doors. I have experimented with this and found this to be an ideal location. I want to use the front seat corner bolts to hold it.

For pictures of my cupholder setup, click on user account #, it will take you to my pictures.
