Default Hey I am new to the forums. My pics, and a problem

<center><img src="http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/bl/blitz16v/slim_934.jpg"></center><p>
But have been reading for the past three years, I have been a member of vwvortex.com for awhile now too. My father has a 2001 TT with APR 254hp+programs quite a nice ride...

I own a 1988 GTI 16V-modded very quick lil machine

Now just recently I have noticed under full accel and as I shift the blowoff valve/diverter valve whatever they use OEM. Seems to be making a fluttering/flatulating noise like a reverb, not a solid PSSSH and the car seems to be down on power as well, CEL light is not on, all other systems are go. Is this a factory recall or what is going on?

Default I used to own the same GTI except in red!

I bought it new in '88 after trading in my '87. Modded the hell out of that car. Still wish I had it. What do they go for new now? How has the engine held up over the years?

What have you done to it? I still have my Tokico lowering springs from that car in my attic. lol Dropped the car so low the front spoiler was about 3" off the ground.

Default Nope . . .

the 16V GTI was first offered in 1988. I wanted the 16V in 1987 but it was not coming here until model year 1988 so I had to settle for an 8V in 1987.

The Golf first was sold here in 1985. My Brother-in-law had the first one in NY State. He bought it sight unseen and picked it up the day after it was delivered to the dealership.

I actually still have a few of the 1988 brochures here. The first two colors offered were Black and Red. I test drove a black and bought a Red. They offered 5 different packages P02, P03, P04, P15 and P39. I bought P15, fully loaded, but only paid for the P02 package.

I probably also still have my sales invoice and can get the prices for the car. lol
