Default Don't forget to subtract atmospheric pressure..>>

In VagCom....(roughly 1000 Mb). 2000 Mb boost on Vag = 1000 over atmospheric or 1 bar or 14.5 PSI. VAG will also not read over 2550 Mb in real numbers (IC pressure) due to the MAP sensor limitations..

Stock is typically referred to as a 1 Bar program..

Default damm it, I thought I had it all figured out

I understand the subtraction, but got lost with the

"VAG will also not read over 2550 Mb in real numbers (IC pressure) due to the MAP sensor limitations.."

what is "IC"
well i guess it dont matter, for know I need to get my 3" APR cat back intalled and fitted properly, cooler will be here late this month.

remember the studdering I got when setting fuel presure to 4 bar?

as soon as the leaks in the down pipe/catback where fixed and the O2 sensors replaced the car handled the 4 bar setting with no problem

Default "Real" Boost is not reported by VAG....>>

You have 3 reporting Boost numbers: Manifold, IC and Command.

Command is what the ECU tells the car it wants

IC (Intercooler) is an actual measurement off the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.

Manifold is a calculated number derived largely from MAF flow and some other items.

The only way to measure REAL boost at the manifold is with a gauge..Boost at the manifold will vary from the IC boost measured just down the intake tract due to Valve timing, Manifold design, and other tricks designed to optimize real pressure delivered to the cyinders..

Default When my car was stock, with a boost gauge, mine would spike at 12,..

and taper back down to 10 - 11 psi. When i got a N75 from ECS, it spiked at 14 - 14.5 and then would taper back down to 12.
I'm very skeptic of a stock boost level of 14psi.

My car is stock and peaks around 14.5 and holds around 11/12. Well, that's what my boost gauge says.

Bump for an old thread, I just installed a boost gauge, and I hit 21psi in 3rd, is that bad? Lol. I have 3in. Catback res and muffler delete and an aftermarket intake, I know u get a increase in boost from mods, but that's a lil high right?
