H&R Coils (off an R32, 50lbs. stiffer front springs)
H&R Front bar, stiff setting H&R Rear bar, middle setting Kmac full rear camber kit (-2.4 rear camber) Defcons up front w/ urethane (-1.5 front camber)(no camber plates, yet :)) I have H2 rear position spherical bushings on order. Also my toe is very close to zero'd out IIRC. I just did tie rods and ball joints up front and an all around hardware refresh. This took my car from being a point> steer> go car that was unstable on the highway to a car I was more than comfortable (and confident) to drive down to H20 this past weekend. The refresh changed the way the car drives, I would say for the better :) I'm really happy with the way my car works itself in and out of turns and I push it pretty hard. I find that about 80% of the time if my car is going to slide it slides all four wheels completly sideways. It feels very controled to me rahter than plowing the turn (front sliding) or having the rear swing out. The other 20% of the time if I intentionaly go into the turn correctly and mash the gas at the right point I can have the rear powering me out of the turn, but never out of control. I lack a haldex controler and the power to do that right now... Are you running a haldex controler Joe? I'm just wondering how my car is going to be effected by this modification (since it's the one I'm looking to do next!). I guess I'm being precautious because I've seen people say blue is the only way to go, orange will be miserable in bad weather ect. I really want to pick up an orange controller. Anyone have one or have any thoughts about this? It's my understanding that the only differecne between the two is the orange will keep the rear wheels connected to the drivetrain under braking. I would think of this as a good thing because most of the braking power takes place up front and you can drop gears to have the rear wheels help you out too, right? On the subframe, I've dropped mine many times. It's not that painful but it's nice to have a friend around or be really good at operating a jack with your foot/calf :) I think the front bar is deffinetly worth it for street use. Before I had HPA coils and just a 21mm rear H&R bar, I had to set it to soft just to enjoy the car. The front would plow out everywhere. Right after I installed the front bar the car was incredible. I decided that the HPA coils I had couldn't keep up with the bars and went H&R coils. I have never tracked my car but for a street vehicle I think it handles really well. I'm actually thinking about getting a stiffer front bar and moving some weight to the trunk!
